There is a team of fire officers from the federal fire services on board as consultants/ Trainers. We also have a dog trainer, a drill instructor, and self defense instructor on board. Technically all the Branch Training officers (TO’s) are supervised by the Head of Training (HOT) at the Head office in order to ensure uniformity of Curriculum and Standard.
TECHNICAL PARTNERS: To ensure that our training is of international standard and embrace all aspects of security, we are in partnership agreement with the following organizations/bodies.
FIELD SECURITY SERVICES LTD The Coach House Upper Dormington Hereford HR14EE United Kingdom www.fieldsecurityservices.com email:amelville@fieldsecurityservices.com
  • FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE Equipment :- We have a well-furnished air-conditioned hall for the training of our new operatives, refresher courses for our operative, supervisors, officers and managers.

  • MAINTENANCE OF RESERVE OF TRAINED OPERATIVES :- We train our guards both for immediate and future needs. Hence, we maintain a reserve of trained and already verified guards with easily located contact addresses. Thus, in case of any emergency, the activation of beats and replacement of existing guards in clients’ facilities do not constitute any problems. As a result of this arrangement, ASCO is capable of rendering the required services and manning all the facilities with suitable and trained guards on short notice.
  • LIBRARY :- We have a mini library equipped with modern books on security in order to generate reading habit among the members of the guard force.
  • RECRUITMENT POLICY AND VETTING PROCEDURES :- In order to ensure that clients derive maximum satisfaction from our services, potential guards are recruited under a strict screening procedure. He/she must possess at least West African School Certificate/equivalent. He/she must be between the age of 25 – 45 years. The upper level of 45 years age is to allow for the special needs of some clients who prefer fairly elderly men (as residential guard).  In addition, a potential guard must not be less than 5 feet 8 inches in height (for a male) or 5 feet 6 inches (for a female). He or she must not posses abnormal scar, or be physically deformed. Other extreme negative aspects which automatically disqualifies a recruit are enlarged navel, knuckle knees, or flat feet etc. Thus, before a potential guard commences training, he/she is considered physically fit. The successful ones are processed to undergo four (4) weeks training at the Training Department, either at the Head Office or any of the Branch Offices (which ever is close to the town/area where the candidate intends to live and work.
  • BACKGROUND VETTING OF PERSONNEL AND GUARANTORS :- It is one of ASCO’s policy that every operative and other personnel complete an application form with details of his/her finger prints stamped for background vetting by our Verification Officers (VO’s). This also applies to the respective guarantors. By so doing, Operatives/personnel with criminal tendencies are barred/eliminated from our system if detected. Thus, our clients would have a reasonable number of credible operatives in their facilities.
  • KITING OF GUARDS :- Given cognizance to the role which appearance plays to the corporate image of a world class organization, our logistics department was recently restructured to ensure timely, attractive, complete, and fitting gear for our operatives and personnel. At any given time, our Logistics Department is capable of completely kiting 100 guards on short notice, irrespective of location nationwide.
